Founded in the vibrant cultural heart of Chennai, NADI was born from a shared vision between Priyadharshini and Shivani. They sought to create a brand that didn't just produce clothing, but echoed the rhythmic vitality of the hands that make it.
The Meaning of NADI
In Tamil, 'Nadi' translates to 'pulse'. It represents the instinctive, natural heartbeat of life - a philosophy we weave into every garment. Our clothing is designed to move with you, breathing as you breathe, reflecting the quiet strength of slow fashion.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the little details. the drape of a fabric, the balance of a silhouette, the quiet confidence that comes from wearing something that feels like you.
That pull toward design and aesthetics shaped my journey long before Nadi existed.
Fashion, for me, has never been about trends. It has always been about expression. the idea that your clothes shouldn’t change who you are, but should help you feel more like yourself.
That belief stayed with me through my years working in digital marketing and communication strategy, where I learned what people actually look for: simplicity, clarity, and a sense of being understood.
Nadi grew from that understanding.
A space where design feels honest, where clothes don’t overpower the person, and where every piece is created with intention.
My role at Nadi is simple to make your everyday choices easier, and your style feel more personal.

My story begins in stacks of freshly woven bath towels, sitting beside my grandfather and learning what real quality feels like not from books, but from touch.
Those early days taught me patience, detail, and the joy of creating something useful with your hands.
As I grew, so did my world.My uncles introduced me to spinning mills, cotton grading, and the beauty hidden in yarn.
Life then took me into a family deeply rooted in fabric trading, supplying to global names like Polo Ralph Lauren a world where precision and craftsmanship were non-negotiable.
While my husband built his garment manufacturing unit, I stepped into another full-time role: motherhood. But even then, fashion never left me.
I studied apparel manufacturing, read everything I could find, and absorbed wisdom from industry experts including my brother, a textile graduate from Manchester, who opened my eyes to the magical world of weaving through a timeless book on clothing technology.
That spark evolved into action.
I began developing samples, following global fashion fairs across London, Paris, and beyond searching for trends, textures, and inspiration that would shape future seasons.
Every chapter family, learning, travel, motherhood, curiosity has led me to Nadi.
A brand built on experience, craft, and a lifelong love for textiles.
And this journey is far from over.
